Wulgulmerang Trip

These photos were taken last year while  me and Jim (my hubby) was on our way  to Wulgulmerang, Victoria   for a family reunion , i will be posting here the beautiful sceneries and along the way as we had plenty of stopovers  to rest and to enjoy the beauty of nature as well ...

      So lovely to look at from a distance . Her Majesty  Mayon Volcano , unknown to you maybe ☺ ... located at Legazpi City , Albay , Philippines ,  my birthplace  ... folklore tells the story of undying  love between two lovers  , the lady named Magayon  , the name  "Mayon " come from .

               It has been a while since i had posted something on my wall  , this year hopefuly i could restart and  make it a must to share  something again ... have a great  year everyone  ☺ ....taken on our way back home from a long trip from Walgett  ... whewwww ! Jimmy ( my hubby ) really did well driving from early morning to midnight , said that was his longest drive  ever done in a  day  in his whole life ( proud of him☺) ...

Cagsawa revisited.

Olivia popped out to Cagsawa this morning to check on what's been done for the 200th anniversary of the big blow. They were working on this area when Jim and Olive stayed there last May, it had fallen into ruin but now looks great with a catering area over the old swimming pools and a very expensive looking bar up on the left, though probably way cheaper than any place in Australia.

Here Olive sits outside that area now called the Patio de Cagsawa, the row of traders that were here are gone now and it does give the place a fresh open look. It's outside the proper ruins area so there's more freedom out here, alcohol is allowed.

Mayon has been steaming for as long as history recalls.

A few wisps of cloud, an hour later Mayon was covered, I'm glad Olive went fairly early when the light was good.

Daraga church.

Olivia went for a walk to the church yesterday to check on how the restoration was going, still plenty to do.
The school must have paid a visit then too but why not it's built at a fantastic site.

Olivia really framed this shot nicely, we had a lovely time here one night just after our marriage.

Workers wearing appropriate safety gear, though I'd be too scared to walk out the door with "shorts" like those. A proper cement mixer would cost extra.

The road up from Daraga, it looks flat but it's hard yakka to climb, not extreme but a rest every 10 paces helps.

Pretty entertaining at any time but ruins a night's sleep when it happens in the wee hours of the day.

 These boys look that fit they may not even view the task of climbing a rope to be impossible unlike the the general public who readily accept that reality.

She's got her eye on you Olive. Pretty costumes, pretty girls, I'll bet they had a great day.

I'm starting this weblog for Olive, hopefully she'll take over most of the input soon enough.
Anyway she visited her family's place where she grew up and managed to get these lovely shots.
For those a bit savvy you can use the GPS info embedded in the EXIF of the photo to find where it was taken (use the clock icon of earth google to wind back from the cloudy default view) but the camera compass is a few degrees awry.
I'd call the beast a water buffalo but Olive (Olivia) calls it a curried boo, or something that sounds like that.
